Friday afternoon brought significant updates to Oklahoma’s recruiting efforts as Lewisville (TX) standout and highly rated offensive lineman Michael Fasusi unveiled his top five college choices, which notably include the Sooners, along with his commitment date

Fasusi is set to make his decision between OU, Oregon, Missouri, Texas A&M, and Texas on August 21. In April, he initially identified his top seven schools, but Georgia and USC did not make the cut for his final five.

At a towering 6-foot-5 and weighing 300 pounds, Fasusi is ranked as the No. 10 overall prospect and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.

If Bill Bedenbaugh and his colleagues succeed in securing a commitment from the upcoming senior, he would become the fourth offensive lineman to join the Sooners’ 2025 class, in addition to 4-star Bridgeland (TX) tackle Ryan Fodje, 4-star Skyridge (UT) guard Darius Afalava, and 3-star Melissa (TX) center Owen Hollenbeck.

Sean Hutton, a close friend of Fasusi and Lewisville’s starting center, also pledged to Oklahoma at the end of June.

If Fasusi selects Oklahoma, he would be the highest-rated recruit to commit to Bedenbaugh since the esteemed offensive line coach arrived in Norman.

The standout player from the Farmers has made several visits to OU, most recently from June 14-16 for an official visit. Furthermore, Fasusi’s former teammate, Jaydan Hardy, joined the Sooners’ roster as a freshman after being part of Brent Venables’ 2024 class.

Oklahoma appears to have nurtured a strong relationship with Fasusi and is in a favorable position with the 5-star prospect, but they will need to finish strongly in the month leading up to his commitment date.

Following the loss of 4-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers to Missouri earlier this month, securing Fasusi’s commitment would certainly help ease the setback for the Sooners and could contribute to what is already one of the top six recruiting classes in the country, as per Rivals.

Conclusion

Fasusi’s announcement promises to keep the recruiting world abuzz as the talented prospect nears his decision. Stay tuned as the countdown to his commitment date is underway.
