A lawsuit has been filed by another Madonna concertgoer against the Queen of Pop, citing sultry performances, hot weather, and delayed arrivals.
On behalf of everyone who saw the 65-year-old singer perform live on her Celebration Tour on March 7 in Inglewood, California at Kia Forum, the plaintiff, Justen Lipeles, filed a class action complaint.
According to documents acquired by The Blast, the complaint claimed that Madonna, Live Nation, and other organizations “purposefully and deceptively” concealed important concert details, including the start time.
Even though we arrived at 8:30 p.m., the concert was scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.
The lawsuit went on to say that the hitmaker for Material Girl ordered the air conditioning to be turned off and instructed the audience to remove their clothing if it was too hot outside.
After that, she “made [them] watch topless women impersonating sex acts on stage.”
According to the lawsuit, Madonna’s disregard for her fans is evident when she makes them wait hours in hot and uncomfortable arenas and abruptly exposes them to pornography.
It also said that it seemed like they were filming a pornographic movie. Making concertgoers listen to pre-recorded music for two hours was the subject of more complaints.
In his request, Justen asked for compensatory damages and a jury trial in this case.
The case encompassed six main concerns, including: intentional infliction of mental distress, negligence/negligent infliction of emotional distress, unfair competition, and breach of written contract.
Madonna has already been the target of legal action from irate admirers.
Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, two concertgoers, filed a lawsuit against the Like a Prayer singer earlier this year when she missed her Brooklyn event by more than two hours.
Representatives for Madonna defended the pop icon at the time, blaming technical difficulties for the postponement. They declared, “We plan to vigorously defend this case.”
Madonna’s attorneys submitted a move to dismiss the case altogether last month.
The lawyers contended that it would be unreasonable for any concertgoer, including fans of Madonna, to anticipate that the main artist of a huge arena concert would enter the stage at the designated time of the event.
The Madonna Celebration Tour has undoubtedly been an unforgettable journey. The singer became unwell and was placed in a hospital’s induced coma, which caused the tour to be temporarily postponed.
Madonna caused a lot of anger in March when she was seen forcing a wheelchair user to stand up at one of her shows.
