Will there be a new Bleach game released on the Switch? Or is this just another reissue of Brave Souls?
Breakdown
- Trusted gaming insider Midori claims that a Bleach game is coming out on Nintendo Switch
- Before fans could get too excited, mobile game company KLab is publishing the game, with many worried this is just a re-release of Bleach: Brave Souls
- Fans haven’t had a console Bleach game since Soul Resurrección on PS3
Given the recent spike in popularity of the anime Bleach, it seems appropriate that a Nintendo Switch game will be released for the series. Fans are expecting for a new game, but it’s unclear if this will be a new one or an old one being rereleased.
Many fans were thrilled to learn that a Bleach game would be arriving for the Switch, according to dependable gaming source Midori. Before these players could become very enthusiastic, Midori announced that KLab will be releasing this game, which put an end to a lot of people’s enthusiasm.
Although fans have speculated that KLab may simply be re-releasing the mobile game Bleach: Brave Souls, there is a chance that the company is releasing a new game for the Switch. It’s not unusual for gacha games to be ported to the Switch, but for fans of the series, who haven’t had a new game in years, this would be especially upsetting.
Although a Nintendo Direct is slated for this June, it is currently unknown when this rumored game will be revealed. Given that there won’t be any Switch 2 news covered in this Direct, it wouldn’t be shocking if this anime game was one of the announcements.
Since Brave Souls was just re-released on PS4 and Steam as a free-to-play title, a Switch port is currently feasible. Although the game is quite well-liked on mobile devices, console gamers would probably prefer a completely new game, but we’ll have to wait and see. Although it’s unlikely, fans would enjoy a revised version of the game without microtransactions.
It’s been years since the Bleach crew got a console release. The last console game under this anime license was Bleach: Soul Resurrección on PS3, which was a decent enough musou title but nothing more. Jump Force, an anime arena fighter, did feature characters like Ichigo, Aisen, and Rukia, but the game has since been delisted with no legal way to play it anymore.
