It looks like Michigan is gearing up for yet another change at the quarterback position.
Sources from 247Sports and CBS Sports indicate that the Wolverines are poised to start Davis Warren as their quarterback in the upcoming game against rival Michigan State on Saturday.
Warren began the season as Michigan’s starting QB but was replaced by Alex Orji after throwing three interceptions in a Week 3 victory over Arkansas State.
Orji then started three games before being benched for Jack Tuttle, who took the reins last week in a 21-7 loss to Washington, leaving the Wolverines with a 4-3 record. In that game, Tuttle recorded 208 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception.
Now, Davis Warren is set to receive another opportunity to start. Prior to the game against Arkansas State, he had thrown for 118 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Michigan’s season-opening 30-12 victory over Fresno State.
He then recorded 204 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions during the Wolverines’ 30-12 loss to Texas in Week 2.
As Michigan prepares for their matchup against Michigan State, they enter the game as 4.5-point favorites. The Spartans are coming off a 32-20 victory over Iowa, which ended a three-game losing streak and improved their record to 4-3.
