Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have supposedly accomplished a historic feat by securing the highest-rated recruit in the program’s history on Thursday.
Dakorien Moore, ranked as the nation’s top wide receiver by 247Sports, is expected to choose Oregon, as indicated in a Tweet from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, which has since been deleted. Moore is weighing his options between Oregon, Texas, LSU, and Ohio State.
Following the deletion of Thamel’s Tweet, Moore stated on his own social media account that he had not disclosed the news to any journalist.

Hailing from Duncanville High School in Texas, Moore is a five-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 5 overall player in the class of 2025 according to 247Sports. With a composite rating of 0.999, he would hold the highest-ever rating for an Oregon recruit, surpassing defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux’s rating of .9987 in 2019.
During his junior season at Duncanville, Moore made 65 receptions for 1,303 yards and scored 15 touchdowns, as reported by MaxPreps.
The 5-foot-11, 182-pound prospect concluded his final official visit to Eugene on June 21, where Lanning and his team possibly succeeded in securing his commitment, preventing Moore from choosing Texas. Despite many recruiting experts predicting that Moore would commit to Texas, it seems that he may be leaning towards Oregon.
If Moore commits, Oregon’s 2025 class would expand to 15 players.
Joining the class would be four-star tight end Da’Saahn Brame (Kansas), four-star wide receivers Dallas Wilson (Texas), Cooper Perry (Arizona), and Isaiah Mozee (Missouri), four-star running backs Dierre Hill (Illinois) and Jordon Davison (California), four-star quarterback Akili Smith Jr. (California), four-star interior offensive lineman Ziyare Addison (Florida), four-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt (California), four-star edge rusher Matthew Johnson (California), four-star cornerbacks Brandon Finney (Maryland) and Dorian Brew (Texas), three-star offensive tackle Demetri Manning (Washington), and three-star defensive tackle Josiah Sharma (California).
