The Grizzlies have announced the signing of Cam Spencer, their second-round pick, to a two-way contract, according to the team’s PR department’s tweet.
In a four-team trade involving the Pistons, Timberwolves, Raptors, and the Grizzlies, Spencer was part of the deal.
After transferring from Rutgers, Spencer played a significant role in UConn’s back-to-back national championships.
Selected as the No. 53 pick in the draft, Spencer started in all 40 games for UConn last season and maintained averages of 14.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.5 steals in 32.8 minutes. Additionally, the 24-year-old, who earned First Team All-Big East honors, achieved shooting percentages of 48.4% from the field, 44.0% from 3-point range, and 91.1% from the free-throw line.
Spencer now occupies the Grizzlies’ final available two-way slot, joining Scotty Pippen Jr. and Trey Jemison.
