The actor’s husband revealed that he “succumbed to an unforeseen heart ailment following a week-long struggle in the hospital.”
Mike Heslin, a 30-year-old actor recognized for his performances in Special Ops: Lioness and The Holiday Proposal Plan, has passed away. His spouse, Scotty Dynamo, verified the news through an Instagram post, stating that Heslin died on July 2 due to a sudden cardiac incident following a week-long struggle in the hospital.
“Michael was young, perfectly healthy, and the medical professionals are unable to provide an explanation for what occurred,” he expressed. Dynamo, also known as Nicolas James Wilson, described Heslin as “exceptional, altruistic, talented, and a real-life guardian angel” who “solely supported me through multiple battles with cancer” in his lifetime.
“He was the go-to person for sharing good news, and he always offered a comforting shoulder and the best advice to those in need,” Dynamo expressed. “He was genuinely the kindest, most compassionate, and affectionate individual, bringing out the very best in everyone he encountered. He navigated life with such grace and confidence, elevating those around him to become better versions of themselves.”
He further added, “Michael, meeting you was the greatest blessing in my life. You mean the world to me. When I felt you take your last breath, my heart broke into a million pieces. If I could switch places with you, I would do so in an instant. However, I will heed your advice to take it one day at a time and honor you by living each day to the fullest.”
Dynamo mentioned that he and Heslin had just begun the process of starting a family and had started discussing “our preferred names for our future children” before his passing. He also commended his deceased spouse for his generosity in being an organ donor and providing “the blessing of life to four separate families.”
“We’re just three weeks away from your birthday and four months short of our first wedding anniversary. But I believe that you are now in a better place, and heaven has gained another angel,” he expressed. “Michael, in the immortal words of Shania Twain, I’ll love you ‘forever and for always.'”
Dynamo also used his Instagram Story to share a GoFundMe campaign for Heslin, aimed at helping to “cover funeral and medical expenses, as well as to offer assistance to Nic and the Heslin family during this period of turmoil and adjustment,” according to its description.
Heslin was most recognized for his role as Polo in Taylor Sheridan’s TV thriller, Special Ops: Lioness, last year. His other works include the Lifetime movie The Holiday Proposal Plan, in which he starred alongside Tatyana Ali, as well as appearances in Younger, The Influencers, and 7 Deadly Sins.
