The front office of the New Orleans Pelicans was reorganized the night before the NBA draft.
The organization announced on Tuesday that Bryson Graham has been promoted to general manager. According to The Athletic, Swin Cash will now hold the position of senior vice president of basketball operations. That would place the member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame among the NBA’s greatest female executives.
Graham was promoted from his position as assistant general manager to president of basketball operations for the Pistons following Trajan Langdon’s departure. For the previous five years, Cash served as the Pelicans’ executive vice president of basketball operations and team development.
In the 2002 WNBA draft, Cash was chosen by the Detroit Shock with the second overall pick after winning two national titles while attending UConn. Before being traded to the Seattle Storm and earning another WNBA championship, she won two with the Shock. In addition to becoming a four-time all-star and winning two gold medals with Team USA over her 15 seasons in the WNBA, Cash was elected into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2022.
