Utah Hockey Club Lands Former Oilers Star Kailer Yamamoto
The Utah Hockey Club has signed forward Kailer Yamamoto to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2024-25 NHL season. This signing comes after Yamamoto impressed the team during his professional tryout (PTO) throughout training camp and preseason.
Yamamoto, a 26-year-old forward, consistently proved his worth during the preseason, leading to this contract offer. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team. This signing addresses the ongoing competition for bottom-six forward roles within the Utah Hockey Club. Yamamoto’s performance during the preseason apparently convinced the organization of his value to the team.
The two-way nature of the contract provides flexibility for both the player and the club, allowing Yamamoto to potentially move between the NHL roster and the minor league affiliate as needed.
With this signing, Utah Hockey Club has added depth to their forward group and rewarded Yamamoto’s strong preseason showing with a spot on the team for the upcoming season.
