Australia’s Marcus Stoinis dethroned Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi to become the top all-rounder in the latest ICC T20 rankings. Stoinis played a key role in Australia’s success in the ongoing T20 World Cup, claiming six wickets and making significant contributions with the bat to secure Australia’s spot in the Super Eights. As Stoinis rose to the top spot, Nabi fell three places, while Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan moved up to second and third place respectively.
The West Indies’ bowlers have been particularly impressive in the tournament, a fact evident in the updated rankings. Akeal Hosein climbed six places to second in the bowlers’ list, which is led by England’s Adil Rashid. Alzarri Joseph also made significant gains, moving up six spots to 11th, and Gudakesh Motie surged 16 places to 13th.
In the batting rankings, India’s Suryakumar Yadav maintained his position as the top-ranked batter in T20 cricket, with Phil Salt, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan following closely behind. Australian opener Travis Head ascended five places to fifth, while West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran jumped eight places to 11th. Additionally, Sherfane Rutherford of the West Indies made a remarkable leap of 43 spots to reach 42nd place.
