Jason Dunstall, a legendary player from Hawthorn, was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame on Tuesday night.
In the history of the game, Dunstall becomes the thirty-second Legend.
“I’m pleased to be able to celebrate tonight and recognise the tremendous achievements of the 2024 inductees and further congratulate Jason Dunstall on his elevation to legend status,” Richard Goyder, chairman of the AFL commission, said.
“Everyone in the Hall of Fame and the new legend should feel tremendous pride in themselves and their exceptional contribution to football, as well as their families and friends.
“The Hall of Fame is marked both by the quality of its members, and also – just as importantly – by those who are waiting for induction that will come for them in the years ahead.”
Dunstall was an All Australian four times, and he won four premierships and four best and fairest awards.
He won three Coleman medals and scored 1254 goals with Hawthorn.
The AFL inducted six new members into the Hall of Fame in addition to Dunstall receiving this honor.
Michael Graham, Chris McDermott, Kelvin Templeton, Dane Swan, Ralph Robertson (dead), and Ray Schofield were among those inducted.
