Quinn Ewers addressed a wild rumor swirling around him on Monday! 247 Sports, a prominent site for recruiting news, stirred up some buzz with an Instagram post that they later took down. The post featured a photo of Ewers, accompanied by a dramatic “Breaking News” headline.
The text falsely claimed, “Texas QB Quinn Ewers will sit out the rest of the season to prepare for the NFL Draft.

Ewers didn’t hold back when he caught wind of the report! The Texas Longhorns quarterback took to his Instagram Story to share a meme of Donald Trump with the caption “fake news.

Ewers definitely wasn’t buying into that report! The claims seemed pretty far-fetched, and the fact that 247 Sports quickly deleted the article suggests they realized they messed up by publishing something that wasn’t ready for the spotlight.
In more positive news, Ewers’ representative confirmed that the quarterback practiced on Monday and is gearing up to take on Vanderbilt this Saturday

Ewers faced a setback this season with an oblique injury, which allowed Arch Manning to step in as the starter. However, Ewers made his comeback just in time to face fierce rival Oklahoma and then started against Georgia. He did get benched for a couple of series due to some struggles, but after Manning had his own rough patch, Ewers returned and played the remainder of the game.
Now in his redshirt junior season, Ewers has thrown for 1,101 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions, helping lead the Longhorns to a solid 6-1 record!
