Kalen DeBoer is making his mark as Alabama’s head coach, but it wasn’t the debut he hoped for in the intense Third Saturday in October rivalry against Tennessee. The Vols edged out the Crimson Tide, 24-17, at Neyland Stadium on Saturday.
After the game, DeBoer spoke to the media about the team’s performance. “It was a tough loss—frustrating, really,” he said. “We’ve faced two of these now. We need to come together as a team. One unit shows glimpses of greatness, while the other falters. We missed some key opportunities. After every game, we reflect inwardly, and that needs to continue. The locker room is hurting, and there’s a shared feeling of disappointment. But I know this team gave their all in preparation. It’s frustrating that we can’t find that breakthrough.”
