Jacoby Windmon has officially become an NFL linebacker.
After months of competing for a spot on the active roster, former Michigan State linebacker Jacoby Windmon has officially signed with the Carolina Panthers! 🎉
This is an exciting milestone for Windmon, who had a rollercoaster career at Michigan State but truly deserves this opportunity. He served as a leader for the Spartans over two seasons, but his promising trajectory was impacted by the tunnel incident in 2022.
Now, Windmon is set to join the Panthers, who are in urgent need of defensive support. Let’s see what he can bring to the NFL.

Carolina is currently viewed as the weakest team in the NFL, and Windmon is stepping in with low expectations but a great chance to secure a significant role within the franchise. He has the potential to emerge as the go-to outside linebacker, equipped with all the attributes necessary to shine in the right system.
Windmon had a stellar career at UNLV before transferring to Michigan State, where he made a big impact. In 2021, he recorded 118 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. He truly exploded in his first eight games with the Spartans, accumulating 49 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, an interception, two pass breakups, and an astounding six forced fumbles, leading the nation in that category. This guy can really play!
Sadly, the turmoil surrounding the coaching staff in 2023 cut his final college season short, limiting him to just three games where he managed 15 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack. Even in such a challenging year, he still made a mark.
Now, Windmon has the opportunity to showcase his talent with the Panthers, who are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements. I believe he’ll make a solid impact and, hopefully, will become a key player on an NFL defense.
