Vikings LB’s Bombshell: Shocking Revelation About Giants’ QB

Discontented New York Giants fans expressed their frustration by booing quarterback Daniel Jones and the offense during a tough season-opening home defeat of 28-6 against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

In a Tuesday interview on KFAN, a sports radio station in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Vikings pass-rusher Jonathan Greenard shared that he and some teammates started to feel sympathy for Jones during the lopsided game.

“We began to feel somewhat sorry for him as we were completely shutting down everything he tried to accomplish,” Greenard remarked about Jones, as reported by Grant Gordon from the NFL’s website. “It’s nice to be on the winning side of things, and our responsibility is to ensure we stay on this side.”

Jones’ comeback to significant play after suffering a torn ACL on November 5 of last year could not have gone worse. He threw two poor interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, and ended up completing 22 of 42 passes for 186 yards without scoring any touchdowns. As per ESPN statistics, Jones ranked 30th out of 32 qualified quarterbacks in Week 1, with an adjusted QBR of 16.2.

“I’ve experienced those boos when you’re walking onto the field and your offense isn’t producing anything, making it feel like you’re playing an away game,” Greenard added during the segment. “In that moment, we recognized how we were pressuring him and acknowledged where he stands in his career, considering the scheme he’s in and any contract issues he might have.”

“The contract issues” that Greenard mentioned pertain to the Giants’ ability to bench a healthy Jones at any time to prevent his salary for the 2025 season from becoming guaranteed due to injury. The team can move on from the four-year contract Jones signed in March 2023 after the upcoming offseason.

“We recognize that he’s going through a lot, and if we can apply additional pressure to him, it might force him to quicken his reads and prevent him from feeling confident and relaxed in the pocket,” Greenard said regarding Jones. “It felt fantastic to witness that during the first few drives.”

Despite his difficulties against Minnesota, Jones is expected to start for New York in their Week 2 game against the 0-1 Washington Commanders this Sunday. As of Wednesday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook has the Giants listed as 1.5-point underdogs for that matchup.
