ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Following NFL cut-down day, the Buffalo Bills have brought in a new quarterback.
As reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills are signing veteran QB Mike White to their practice squad.
White will join Josh Allen and Mitch Trubisky in the quarterback room, adding valuable experience from his time in the AFC East.
At 29 years old, White has played for both the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, participating in 14 NFL games overall. He started seven games for the Jets, finishing with a record of 2-5. Recently, he was with the Dolphins but lost the backup quarterback competition to Skylar Thompson, leading to his release earlier this week.
With Trubisky’s injury potentially lingering into the regular season, the Bills may rely on White as a backup for Allen in the early weeks.
White will begin on the practice squad but can be elevated to the active roster if Trubisky is unable to play.
The Bills kick off their season against the Arizona Cardinals on September 8th, and just four days later, they will face White’s former team, the Miami Dolphins, on September 12th.
