Ravens Mourn Playoff Legend Jacoby Jones’ Sudden Death at 40

Numerous stories state that Jacoby Jones passed away at the age of 40.

Numerous reports state that 40-year-old former wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens and 2012 playoff hero Jacoby Jones has passed dead.

Jones was a beloved and endearing member of the Ravens who was well-known for his dancing celebrations, humorous ways, and upbeat outlook. He played with the Houston Texans for five years before joining the Ravens.

Jones was an essential member of the Ravens return team during his three seasons, making First Team All-Pro in his rookie year after totaling 1,167 return yards and two touchdowns. Jones scored six return touchdowns with the Ravens (one punt, five kicks). Three kick return touchdowns totaled an impressive 108 yards, the longest of which was the opening kickoff return in Super Bowl 47 in the second half against the San Francisco 49ers.

For the Ravens, Jones’ on-field performance defined the franchise. Jones made the biggest play in team history against the Denver Broncos, catching the “Mile High Miracle,” which proved to be crucial to the Ravens’ 2012 Super Bowl run. He also grabbed a 56-yard touchdown pass in Super Bowl 47, which gave the Ravens a 28-3 lead just before halftime.

Over the course of his ten years in the NFL, Jones caught 208 passes for 2,880 yards and 16 touchdowns, added 8,401 return yards, and scored 10 career return touchdowns. Fans, family, and friends will all sincerely miss him.
