Zion Williams, a highly-rated four-star defensive lineman from Lufkin, Texas, has made his college commitment to LSU.
He opted for the Tigers over competitors such as Texas and TCU, despite receiving offers from esteemed programs like Alabama, Notre Dame, USC, Georgia, and Oklahoma, among several others.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, which combines assessments from four prominent recruiting media outlets, Williams ranks as the No. 328 overall prospect and the No. 29 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class. Additionally, he holds the spot as the 53rd top player in Texas.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pound athlete visited Baton Rouge twice during the spring and scheduled an official visit to Brian Kelly’s program at the start of June. LSU’s defensive line coach, Bo Davis, who rejoined the team from Texas before this season, played a key role in securing Williams’ commitment to the Tigers.
“Coach Bo seems genuinely concerned about my future and aims to help me reach a point where I can provide for a family in the future,” Williams shared with The Bengal Tiger earlier this year. “It was really meaningful to me when he mentioned that he sees me as having NFL potential within three years, while also emphasizing the importance of obtaining a degree before moving on. I believe that Coach Bo and I will maintain a strong relationship, whether I end up playing under him or not.”
