Twelve more characters, including Mr. Satan and Goku Black, as well as more recent Dragon Ball Super characters, have now been revealed for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. When Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero was revealed by Bandai Namco at The Game Awards 2023 back in December, fans had been waiting over 20 years for a new installment in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series. Since then, additional information about the soon-to-be sequel has gradually been made public in advance of its October 24 release.

Playing with a wide cast of Dragon Ball characters was one of the main draws of the Budokai Tenkaichi (or Sparking, as it is known in Japan) series. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero aims to carry on this legacy by incorporating elements from the original Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball Super anime. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has already demonstrated gameplay for a wide range of heroes and villains, including fusion characters like Gotenks and Gogeta, even though the majority of the game’s marketing has understandably concentrated on Goku and Vegeta.

A new teaser for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero confirms at least 12 more playable characters, adding to the already impressive cast. The majority of these new characters, including Jiren, Future Trunks, Roasie, Ribrianne, Anilaza, Super Ultra Instinct Sign Goku, and Super Sayan Rose Goku Black, are from the more current Dragon Ball Super series. A few iconic characters, like Super Vegito, Yajirobe, Spopovich, Dabura, and Mr. Satan, have also been confirmed.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s extensive roster isn’t its only selling point, as it was recently revealed that the offline multiplayer mode that contributed to the success of the previous Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi games will indeed return, albeit it will only be accessible during the Hyperbolic Time Chamber stage. Positively, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s unique Choose Your Own Adventure Mode allows players to craft their own ideal battle settings, with the tale being impacted by decisions that may drastically diverge from the canonical Dragon Ball storyline.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s potential is expanding with every new character release and roster confirmation, including the 12 newest ones. Fans will have lots of variety when Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero finally releases this October, with heroes like Future Trunks and Yajirobe as well as terrifying villains like Jiren and Super Sayan Rose Goku Black.
