JUST IN: XDefiant data miner leaks new factions and maps

According to its stated player count, XDefiant is off to a great start. However, a key success factor for the game will be how effectively Ubisoft’s new shooter keeps those players around. Players may be kept interested by a constant stream of fresh content, and recent leaks indicate there will be a ton of it.

One’s own description A series of leaks, purportedly showcasing upcoming content scheduled for release over the course of the next year, have been shared on Twitter/X by XDefiant data miner @AgainTx. These leaks include a few new factions and maps inspired by popular Ubisoft games. Additionally, AgainTx teased some upcoming game modes and shared pictures of some possible ranked awards.

Since factions are what set XDefiant apart from Call of Duty, its primary rival, the most interest is focused on the possible addition of additional factions. AgainTx reports that the Highwaymen from Far Cry New Dawn, the GSG9 police force from Rainbow Six Siege, and factions from Assassin’s Creed and Ghost Recon Breakpoint are among the “planned” factions that will be included in year one. Images of the allegedly data-mined iconography for each of these factions’ abilities have been provided by AgainTx.

As the only faction from a franchise that does not heavily emphasize the usage of weaponry, the Assassins are by far the most intriguing prospective new faction. The ability icons that AgainTx uploaded point to the usage of a smoke bomb, a cloaking or hiding ability, and an ultra or passive power connected to the Apple of Eden item.

There have also been leaks of loading screen footage from several apparently new maps. There’s an underground Bunker from Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the vibrant Waterfront and Signal from Far Cry New Dawn, and it looks like the game may even feature a racetrack Daytona from the recently closed racing game The Crew.

The data miner claims that this is still a small portion of what Ubisoft has planned for XDefiant. New game variants including a two-vs-two mode, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and an Infection-inspired style are planned, along with even more maps and weapons. However, AgainTx has repeatedly stated that a battle royale option is not going to be included.

Since these are leaks, Ubisoft has not verified them and they could change.
