A look at the cornerback class for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Cornerback is one of the best positions available in the 2025 NFL Draft. Travis Hunter and Will Johnson are two likely top ten picks in this class. The group has a lot of depth as well; 60 players made my preseason watch list.
One cornerback per conference to keep an eye on in the 2025 NFL Draft
ACC: Virginia Tech’s Dorian Strong
According to Pro Football Focus, Dorian Strong topped all FBS cornerbacks in 2023 in terms of yards allowed per coverage snap (0.24) and completion percentage allowed (27.3%), while he ranked second in terms of quarterback rating allowed (11.8).
Big 10: Michigan’s Will Johnson
Will Johnson of Michigan is a cornerback who has a strong chance of being a top-five pick in April of next year. The 6-foot-2 cornerback gave up just a 29.1 passer rating in the previous season, and in 2022, he led all true freshman with a man coverage grade of 91.1.
Big 12: Colorado’s Travis Hunter
Colorado’s Travis Hunter is among the most exciting athletes in college football. The primary uncertainty surrounding this versatile player is whether he will play wide receiver or cornerback in the NFL. Because of his exceptional ball abilities and ability to close down his man completely, I like him as a corner.
SEC: Georgia’s Julian Humphrey
Julian Humphrey of Georgia is a player looking to make a big impression this year. In the 2025 NFL Draft, he demonstrated the ability to be a day-two pick, despite missing five games the previous season.
Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison is a non-Power Four.
Benjamin Morrison of Notre Dame is another player who has a high draft grade going into the season. Morrison has shut down some of the best wide receivers in college football. Against former Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., he caused three more incompletions in the last two years compared to the two catches he allowed.
